Scope of Responsibility:

This role is a senior mentor/floor leadership position for the NDT/Quality Associates on the manufacturing floor. Responsible for monitoring and inspection of product produced and received at Sabre Industries facilities. Additional duties as assigned.

Essential Duties:

  • Makes visual and measured inspection of components to ensure conformance with standards.
  • Verifies specified dimensions and other quality requirements using measuring and inspection equipment per all applicable specifications, standards, procedures and codes.
  • Complies with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintains and completes all required records.
  • Maintain and work to continually improve quality processes and systems to influence the Sabre team and proactively create a customer appreciated product which our industry views as a superior quality product
  • Read and understand code books, standards, procedures, customer specifications, and drawings
  • Performs visual and measured inspections using various measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Performs calibration on measuring and test equipment according to company procedures.
  • Completes inspection records and reports on a daily basis.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 2 years as a Level UT II position and current certifications in same. (Preferrable 2 years + in MT Level II as well)
  • Mastery of all basic measurement equipment such as tape measure, level, and square.
  • Read and understand fundamental standards, prints and procedures that pertain to specific job being performed
  • Mastery of ability to read and interpret engineering/drafting prints
  • Must be able to train Inspector "D, C, B & A" personnel and act as a coach and mentor for same.
  • Considered an SME in inspection methods in the Sabre fabrication environment.
  • Passing knowledge of all floor training requirements.
  • Approval by Quality Manager for Senior NDT Tech status.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, with heavy manufacturing (fabrication, machinery) preferred.
  • Requires minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk and perform activities that require considerable use of arms and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling materials - within an office, manufacturing environment and potentially client based outside utilities, such as storage yards, utility lines and customer testing facilities
  • Must be willing to visit Sabre and client locations in an open environment, possibly exposed to extreme temperatures - while maintaining a safe work ethic and using proper PPE as required for the occasion.
