Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Bilingual Paralegal (Spanish/English) to support our Personal Injury (PI) and Medical Malpractice (Med Mal) legal team. The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients, assisting attorneys throughout all phases of case management, from intake through settlement or trial. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience handling complex injury and medical malpractice matters.

 Essential duties & responsibilities:

·         Conduct client intake interviews in both English and Spanish.

·         Serve as a liaison between attorneys and Spanish-speaking clients, ensuring effective communications throughout the life of the case.

·         Maintain regular contact with clients to provide case updates and obtain necessary information and documentation.

·         Assist clients in completing forms and gathering records relevant to their claims.

·         Request, review, summarize, and organize medical records and billing records.

·         Prepare medical chronologies, treatment summaries, and damages analyses.

·         Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, expert witnesses, and other third parties.

·         Assist with preparing demand packages and settlement documentation.

·         Monitor treatment progress and maintain accurate case records.

·         Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.

·         File legal documents with state and federal courts as required.

·         Manage litigation calendars and monitor deadlines.

·         Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial binders.

·         Schedule depositions, mediations, independent medical examinations, and court appearances.

·         Maintain electronic and physical case files.

·         Enter and update case information in case management software.

·         Track statutes of limitations and other critical deadlines.

·         Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal procedures

Required skills and abilities

·         Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) required.

·         Strong understanding of personal injury and medical malpractice case processes.

·         Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.

·         Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.

·         Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

·         Strong time management and multitasking abilities.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.

Education, experience and physical requirements:

·         Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in Personal Injury and/or Medical Malpractice litigation.

·         Experience working with medical records, healthcare providers, and insurance companies required.

·         Experience supporting trial attorneys in litigation matters.

·         Knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures.

·         Experience using case management platforms such as Needles, SharePoint, OneDrive, Clio, or similar systems.

·         Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, and healthcare documentation.

·         Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

·         Ability to occasionally lift and move files weighing up to 20 pounds.
