Job description

POSITION: Retailer Audit Manager

LOCATION: Mahwah, NJ

RECRUITMENT RANGE: $107,500-$150,000

Live the Exceptional With Soul. This is the singular purpose of JLR.

At the core of these experiences are the products themselves. The JLR brands have undergone a dramatic transformation over the past years.

JLR is reimagining the future of modern luxury by design through our distinct British brands. Our purpose is to 'Live the Exceptional with Soul' by being the proud creators of modern luxury and being guided by a set of behaviors we call our Creators' Code: Customer Love; Unity; Integrity; Growth; Impact.

At JLR, we are passionate about our people. They are at the heart of our business. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive culture that is representative of our global customers and the society in which we live; a culture in which every one of our employees can bring their authentic self to work and reach their full potential.

The Retailer Audit Manager role is responsible for compliance within JLRNA's retailer network. Role responsibilities include supervising a team of auditors, validating repair claims against warranty policies and procedures, identifying ineligible sales incentive claims as well as supporting Sales Operations/Customer Service/Field Personnel with identified policy/procedural deficiencies. This role focuses heavily on mitigating company liability while acting as a trusted business advisor to the retailers.

What you will be doing:

  • Audit Execution & Oversight: Plan, schedule, and lead audits of retailer service departments and sales records. Review work papers and ensure audit consistency across the franchise network as well as oversee all audit appeals and chargeback processing for the audit findings.
  • Compliance Enforcement: Monitor retailer adherence to all policies, procedures, and pertinent notifications. Initiate chargebacks or negotiate repayments for improper claim submissions or non-compliant practices.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trends to identify systemic issues and root causes of compliance deviations.
  • Reporting & Advisory: Compile detailed audit reports and clearly communicate findings to retailer principals, regional personnel, and corporate management. Guide and train retailer staff/field personnel on best practices to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor staff auditors and analysts.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related automotive discipline. Certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CFE preferred.
  • 5 to 10+ years of professional experience in automotive fixed operations, dealership auditing, or OEM compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive diagnostic procedures, repair guidelines, and Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
  • Proficiency in using data analytics, digital auditing software, and optical recognition tools to audit and predict claim submission patterns.
  • High-level negotiation, conflict management, and interpersonal skills to handle potentially sensitive or confrontational audit findings with retailers diplomatically.

Schedule: Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position".
