Job description

In this part-time Specialty Dental Assistant opportunity, you will support the Oral Surgery and Orthodontic teams in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting during dental procedures, preparing instruments, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring and professional demeanor, ability to start within a month and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Be able to float between assiting the Oral Surgeon and Orthodontist during dental procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, ensure comfort, and provide clear pre-op and post-op instructions.
  • Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases.
  • Place and remove arch wires, elastic ties, power chains, and other orthodontic auxiliaries (as allowed by state regulations).
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before, during, and after patient treatment.
  • Take digital dental X-rays accurately using dexis software.
  • Provide chairside assistance, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed.
  • Record and update patient medical histories and treatment plans in the dental software.
  • Manage dental instruments and tools, passing them to the dentist as needed during procedures.
  • Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene.

Qualifications
  • Washington Registered Dental Assistant License active
  • Current CPR/BLS certification active
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and OSHA/HIPAA standards
  • Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care

Compensation
$26-$28/hr
