In this full-time position located in the heart of Mount Vernon, New York, you will become an integral part of our dedicated rehabilitation team. Work Environment

Your role as a Physical Therapist Assistant will take place in a modern hospital setting equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and tools. Working from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists and other interdisciplinary team members, including occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers. Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized therapeutic exercise programs designed by the supervising Physical Therapist to foster recovery from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct gait training and mobility interventions, ensuring each resident is empowered to participate actively in their rehabilitation journey.
  • Monitor and meticulously document resident progress using our electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with quality standards and effective communication with the supervising PT.
  • Encourage residents to engage wholeheartedly in their treatment plans while employing a positive and motivational approach that bolsters their confidence and fosters improvement.
  • Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed, and equipment is used properly during therapy sessions, minimizing the risk of injury.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members to coordinate care and contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and modifications of treatment plans.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of your efforts will be primarily on older adults dealing with age-related conditions, post-surgical recovery, and those confronted with physical and cognitive limitations. Qualifications
  • A valid New York State PTA license is required before applying.
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
