This role will be conducted onsite at our fully equipped hospital facility in Plattsburgh, a city known for its scenic beauty and safe community atmosphere. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a consistent work-life balance.

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing, implementing, and modifying individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic care, such as exercises, stretching, and manual therapy techniques, while actively monitoring patient responses to treatment.
• Educate patients on prescribed exercises and self-management strategies to support rehabilitation goals, enhancing their understanding of their recovery process.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately in electronic health records to facilitate communication with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists and physicians to ensure holistic patient care and optimal recovery.
• Utilize trigger point therapy and other specialized modalities when appropriate to alleviate pain and restore function.
• Champion occupational health initiatives by promoting healthy practices within the facility and assisting in the development of wellness programs.

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work with a broad range of patients across all age groups, including children recovering from sports injuries, adults recovering from surgery, and seniors aiming to restore mobility. • Must possess an Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working as a PTA in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
• Competence in manual therapy techniques to deliver effective patient care.
