Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant assists with clinical operations at our Redmond location to keep patient flow smooth and efficient while providing a high level of patient care. This role works with patients of all ages and assists with rooming patients, collecting vitals, and performing point-of-care testing associated with asthma and allergy care. Our office maintains a supportive and efficient working environment with a 2:1 CMA to provider ratio. Typically, our offices have 1-2 doctors, and each doctor sees between 14-22 patients per day. This structure ensures a balanced workload and allows for high-quality patient care.
Duties:
  • Check in patients and record vital signs, medication history, drug allergy verification, review of symptoms list. Conduct preliminary test as appropriate based on the problem list or patient's presenting symptoms. Enter all data into the EMR system.
  • Perform procedures without error in a timely fashion as ordered by the provider.
  • Responsible for patient education including but not limited to medications care planning, disease process understanding, environmental controls and device teaching. Document specific take home messages to the patient in the EMR system.
  • Take inventory of supplies and re-stock as needed. Maintain sample medications, and printed information for patients.
  • Turn exam room to prepare for next patient.

Requirements
We are seeking a candidate with the following:
  • Current Washington State LPN or CMA license
  • Must have completed the 7 hours state mandated AIDS/HIV training program.
  • CPR/First aid for healthcare professionals card.
  • Washington state insured Medical Assistant certification or registration proof.
  • Comprehension of EMR/HER recordkeeping system for delivery of healthcare. Prior experience on Athena, Epic, GE or other system is required.
  • Self-motivation, empathy, and stellar interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Enthusiasm and desire to participate as a team member and gain a variety of technical skills
  • A history of working in an outpatient setting, preferably in asthma/allergy, ENT, pediatric, or dermatology specialty offices
