 Medical Assistant for Outpatient Concierge Practice

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our dynamic, concierge-like medical practice. In this environment, the focus is on providing personalized care and services to patients.  The ideal candidate is a compassionate and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and enjoys both direct patient interaction and collaborative teamwork.   This clinical office is located in Northwest Tucson and is part of a larger medical group practice, Arizona Community Physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Phlebotomy.
  • Collect patient specimens.
  • Provide quality hands-on patient care, including rooming patients, taking vitals and assisting with exams and minor procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, supplies and equipment, including serialization to support daily clinic flow.
  • Administer injections and apply dressings as applicable when needed.
  • Manage referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Assist with administrative duties or scheduling tasks as needed.
  • Support physicians and clinical staff with diagnostic test, lab work and follow up coordination.
  • Administer pre-physical testing and screening assessments such as vision, hearing, memory, ABI, PFT, ECG and fragility.

Qualifications:​

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of at least 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience where 2 years related experience equals one year of schooling.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • Knowledge of primary medical practice and patient care.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures to assist the physician within the scope of a Medical Assistant.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care within the scope of a Medical Assistant.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic preferred, but not necessary).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
