Job description

Diet Aide

Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the Diet Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Obtains necessary information from the Cerner diet report and CBORD such as diet orders, supplement orders, and allergies to provide patients with adequate nutrition.
  • Obtains menu preferences and meal orders in CBORD software.
  • Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on therapeutic diet order and approved recipes.
  • Delivers patient meals to all patient care units.
  • Returns all carts to kitchen dish room at designated times.
