Job description

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year

Full-Time Onsite Role in Cumming, GA

Monday - Thursday 8AM -5:30PM

Friday - 8AM -12PM


Duties and Responsibilities:

· The Accountant is responsible for helping supervise and work alongside the Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Specialist.

· She or he is responsible for assisting the CFO in maintaining adequate control systems as required by the external auditor. The Accountant will be the lead on ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of the General Ledger.

· The Accountant will assist the CFO with developing and monitoring the organizational budget and financial plan. He or she will assist the CFO in developing the financial viability of the organization including the proactive use of financial modeling and projections.

· The Accountant will help direct activities for the accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, Medical Center grant and federal related reports; internal and external monthly financial statements; monthly management reports; productivity reports; cost reports; annual audits and variance reporting.

· She or he will assist other staff in activities of purchasing and disbursement, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and total payroll tax compliance.

· The Accountant will become knowledgeable of all internal finance policies and procedures and will assist the CFO on a periodic basis to evaluate and change, if necessary, the systems, policies and procedures necessary to meet required regulations as well as drive and expand efficiencies across all the company's business functions.

· The Accountant performs work-related responsibilities with initiative, taking ownership and responsibility when appropriate. The Accountant is approachable, receptive, and responsive to feedback and suggestions from coworkers, subordinates and supervisory staff. He or she is fair, equitable, positive, and constructive in working with / leading others and actively promotes teamwork and positive staff morale.

· The Accountant performs other duties as assigned by the CFO.


Qualifications

Education / Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred

· Budget Preparation and Fiscal Oversight Experience (3 years)

· Medical Office Management Experience a plus

· Staff Management Experience (2+ years

· Great Plains: 2 years (Required)


Preferred:

· Healthcare experience in a a medical facility, hospital with multiple federal, state and local governmental funding streams


Licensure / Certifications / Desired Credentials

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

· Well organized and detail oriented with high level of interpersonal skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· High professional and ethical standards.

· Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This includes extensive knowledge of balance sheet account reconciliations, financial statement preparation analysis, cash management and payroll processes.

· Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Great Plains experience desired, but experience with a robust accounting platform similar to Great Plains is required.

· Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

· Advanced proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel, Word, Web-based communications and accounting software.

· Independent and self-directed.

· Organizes, prioritizes and coordinates multiple activities and tasks.

· Remains calm and effective in high-pressure and emergency situations.

· Produces work in high-quantity and quality.

· Problem-solves with creativity and ingenuity
