Job description

As an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mediator at the GS-0301-13, you will be part of the Office of Field Programs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, serving in one of the agency's District, Field, Area, or Local Offices, depending on the selected duty location. If selected, you will be responsible for conducting neutral ADR mediations involving employment discrimination disputes.Qualifications:For the GS-13: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized work experience comparable to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service directly related to independently conducting mediations for Equal Employment Opportunity-related disputes, such as using effective settlement techniques to facilitate communication between disputants to break impasses and/or to further parties' understanding of different perspectives and interests in order to successfully guide parties toward mutual agreement.
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education:This position does not have an education qualification requirement.
