Title: Communications Contractor -Media Relations
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 3 months
Enter Job Description.
We are seeking a communications professional to provide temporary media relations support during parental leave coverage. This contractor will help manage day-to-day media engagement, develop messaging, and proactively identify and pitch stories that support business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming media inquiries and coordinate timely responses with oversight from media relations directors
  • Develop and refine messaging, talking points, and media materials
  • Identify proactive storytelling opportunities and pitch relevant media outlets
  • Support media monitoring and issue management as needed
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, complete final materials, and collaborate on strategies and execution to support business goals

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of communications and media relations experience
  • Proven experience engaging and managing media and building relationships with journalists on behalf of companies and organizations
  • Strong writing, messaging, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
