Job description

The Opportunity:

ROGERCO is seeking an experienced Senior Media Analyst to support the Army Transformation and Training Command (T2COM) Headquarters Communications Directorate. This role provides senior-level strategic communications and media analysis support to Army leadership by monitoring the information environment, analyzing media trends, developing executive reporting, and delivering data-driven insights that inform command decision-making.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted communications advisor, leveraging advanced media monitoring tools and analytic techniques to assess communication effectiveness, identify emerging trends, and produce executive-level products supporting senior leaders across T2COM. This position requires exceptional analytical ability, outstanding written communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced headquarters environment supporting high-visibility initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor traditional, digital, and social media to identify trends, emerging issues, and topics affecting Army Transformation and Training Command priorities.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly executive media intelligence reports for senior Army leadership.
  • Develop strategic communication assessments, executive briefings, read-ahead materials, talking points, and decision support products.
  • Manage and support the production of the T2COM Morning Report and Close of Business (COB) Report.
  • Develop and maintain communication metrics, dashboards, and data visualizations that measure organizational effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Utilize media monitoring and analytics platforms such as Muck Rack, Meltwater, or comparable tools to collect and analyze communication data.
  • Analyze media sentiment and recommend communication strategies that enhance organizational messaging and mitigate reputational risk.
  • Coordinate with Public Affairs, Communications Directorate leadership, subordinate commands, and external stakeholders to ensure messaging alignment.
  • Support senior leader media engagements by developing communication products, executive preparation materials, and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings to senior civilian and military leadership, including General Officers.
  • Assist with digital communication initiatives, multimedia campaigns, strategic events, and other high-visibility Communications Directorate projects.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and best practices related to media monitoring and communication analytics.
  • Provide backup support for media engagements, special events, and other Communications Directorate requirements as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience supporting strategic communications, media analysis, public affairs, or executive communications
  • Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and communication products
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, actionable recommendations
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience supporting senior executives or General Officer-level leadership
  • Experience using media monitoring, analytics, and reporting platforms (e.g., Muck Rack, Meltwater, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting short deadlines in a dynamic headquarters environment
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supporting Army, DoD, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command headquarters
  • Knowledge of Army and DoD public affairs policies and communication processes
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, performance metrics, and communication assessments
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, digital engagement analytics, and social media performance measurement
  • Experience supporting senior leader engagements, strategic messaging, and crisis communications
