Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-timeReliability Technician at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and perform testing and/or calibration activities by reviewing schedules, operating equipment and producing accurate records.
Essential Functions
  • Operate environmental test equipment with pre-defined profiles and programs
  • Operate basic test equipment to test and troubleshoot products per engineering guidance, including automated test equipment, multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes
  • Review test schedules to determine which requests are ready for execution
  • Conduct basic prioritization activities and communicate outcomes to the team
  • Perform testing by applying the appropriate level of measurement skills, equipment operation and tool utilization
  • Understand procedures and diagnose issues as required
  • Maintain accurate records of test conduct along with the appropriate data, pictures, media, etc
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of test equipment and records and gain familiarity with engineering test procedures
  • Follow schedules and perform basic tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures
  • Move work and test equipment to and from work areas
  • Lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology OR Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with previous Military training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude related to using tools and measurement devices (hand tools, calipers, gages, etc.)
  • Demonstrated strong electrical aptitude related to operating electrical equipment and test devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to move work and test equipment to and from work areas
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous calibration, reliability, or electronics experience
  • Experience working in a calibration lab, test lab or engineering test environment
  • Experience with ISO9000, ISO17025, AS9100, IATF6949
