  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required for project work such as special events, etc.

  • Seasonal:This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 30 hour per week average rule in regards to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Social Media Assistant provides support to the Marketing department in University Housing, working on social media and related multimedia materials for our audiences. Marketing serves as the communications leader and in-house creative agency for University Housing, working with the Division's various departments. The Social Media Assistant represents University Housing by promoting our services while staying consistent with our brand standards.
  • Help manage University Housing's social media presences on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. Answer questions and create original, compelling, and fun posts to engage current and future residents, parents, conference guests, alumni, etc.
  • Assist with planning, writing and design of social media content
  • Collaborate with Residence Life and other Housing staff to edit, write, and produce digital content for residence halls, learning communities, etc.
  • Perform administrative services, such as word processing, proofreading, fact checking, preparing packets for distribution, and other clerical help.
  • Occasional project work related to planning and staffing special events.

Qualifications:
  • Satisfactory results of a confidential criminal background check are required
  • Preference given to students who have lived in University Residence Halls
