DELIVERING SOLUTIONS IS WHAT WE DO. Itโ€™s our heritage and our future. Because we donโ€™t just engineer. We build innovative solutions that drive progress, ensure safety, and shape the world around us.

MECO Engineering is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and empoweredโ€”when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We are a multi-disciplined firm specializing in civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, as well as land surveying services. Since 1985, we have been assisting rural communities and water districts in meeting their public works needs. Our team-based problem-solving approach, combined with decades ofย experience, allows us to deliver uniquely creative solutions to todayโ€™s complex regulatory and funding challenges. Our projects, spanning from wastewater systems to transportation infrastructure, are a testament to our dedication to quality and innovation.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus in one or more of the following areas: Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, Land Development, or Municipal Services. This role involves technical project leadership, design oversight, and collaboration with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.ย

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects in water/wastewater, land development, or municipal sectors.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers, designers, and CAD technicians throughout project phases.
  • Conduct site visits, evaluations, and inspections as needed during design and construction.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Support proposal preparation, project budgeting, and business development efforts.
  • Stay current with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Water and wastewater systems
    • Land development
    • Municipal engineering (streets, drainage, utilities, capital improvement projects, etc)
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar).
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • This position offers a salary range of $65,000โ€“$90,000 per year, along with comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and holiday pay.
  • The listed salary range reflects the potential compensation for this role. Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.

What We Offer

  • Career Growthย โ€“ As a growing firm, we offer real opportunities for advancement and professional development.
  • Meaningful Projectsย โ€“ Work on infrastructure that directly impacts your community and improves quality of life.
