Area: Engineering / Research and Development
Focus: 3D design, technical documentation, and development of refrigeration systems
Summary Description
We are seeking a Junior or Mid-Level Product Designer to join the Research and Development team, focused on the development of products and components applied to refrigeration systems.
This position is intended for professionals with a solid foundation in 3D CAD, strong technical interpretation skills, organization, and interest in growing within the refrigeration field. The professional will work on the creation and review of 3D models, technical drawings, product structures, engineering documentation, and support for the development of condensing units, sealed systems, and related components.
Previous knowledge of refrigeration will be considered a plus, but it is not mandatory. The company is looking for a professional with the potential to be technically developed, progressively learning about thermal sizing, component selection, validation testing, and the fundamentals of refrigeration systems.
Responsibilities and Activities
โ€ข Develop, review, and update 3D models of products, components, and mechanical subassemblies.
โ€ข Prepare and review technical drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and other engineering documents.
โ€ข Work on the development of components and assemblies applied to condensing units, sealed systems, and refrigeration solutions.
โ€ข Support more experienced engineers and designers in creating technical solutions for new products or improvements to existing products.
โ€ข Perform design changes according to the needs of engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, or customers.
โ€ข Ensure standardization, traceability, and organization of product technical information.
โ€ข Work with product and documentation management systems, such as PLM, PDM, ERP, or equivalent systems.
โ€ข Support the creation and maintenance of product structures, codes, revisions, and technical documentation.
โ€ข Participate in technical analyses, design reviews, and discussions with cross-functional areas.
โ€ข Provide support to purchasing and suppliers regarding technical questions, component replacement, and the development of alternatives.
โ€ข Support prototyping, assembly, testing, and engineering validation activities.
โ€ข Progressively learn and apply refrigeration concepts, component selection, and basic system sizing.
โ€ข Contribute to improvements in engineering processes, documentation, and project standardization.
โ€ข Act in an organized manner when following up on tasks, deadlines, and technical deliverables.
Technical Requirements
Education
Desired:
โ€ข Technical degree, technologist degree, or undergraduate degree in progress or completed in one of the following areas:
โ€ข Mechanical Engineering;
โ€ข Production Engineering;
โ€ข Mechatronics Engineering;
โ€ข Mechanical Technology;
โ€ข Mechanical Design;
โ€ข Refrigeration and Air Conditioning;
โ€ข or related fields.
For this position, education is important, but the main differentiator will be practical ability in CAD, technical drawing, design reasoning, and organization of technical documentation.
Desired Experience
For Junior Level

CAD Knowledge
Required
Experience or solid knowledge in at least one 3D CAD tool, such as:

โ€ข or equivalent software.
Important Differentials

Desired Knowledge in Refrigeration
The knowledge listed below is desirable, but not mandatory:
โ€ข Basic understanding of vapor-compression refrigeration systems.
โ€ข Basic knowledge of compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, fans, and piping.
โ€ข Familiarity with condensing units, sealed systems, merchandisers, display cases, or commercial refrigeration equipment.
โ€ข Basic understanding of heat load, heat transfer, and component selection.
โ€ข Basic knowledge of refrigerants.
โ€ข Interest in learning about thermal sizing and system performance.
โ€ข Previous experience in HVAC-R, commercial refrigeration, white goods, compressors, or electromechanical systems.
Desired Knowledge in Engineering Processes

โ€ข Knowledge of product revision control.
