Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Chantilly, VA (Main site) – Travel required to MD/DC area
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Type: Temp-to-Perm
Job Summary:
BD, a global medical technology company, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support customers in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC—especially Quest Diagnostics in Chantilly, VA.
You’ll install, maintain, and troubleshoot complex medical equipment at customer sites. You’ll also act as the main point of contact, helping solve problems and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair lab diagnostic equipment.
- Respond quickly to customer service calls.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
- Upgrade system software and ensure compatibility.
- Communicate clearly with customers about service progress.
- Maintain accurate records of service and repairs.
- Keep company tools, car, and test equipment in good condition.
- Participate in on-call support and vendor training
Qualifications:
- Associate degree (preferred) OR 3–5 years of relevant experience (electrical, electronics, biomedical, etc.)
- Knowledge of electronics and mechanical systems (mechatronics).
- Able to install and update software.
- Familiar with IT and networking basics.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Can lift 30–70 lbs and handle physical tasks
