PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Mechanical Engineer I/II supports the design, assembly, troubleshooting, and deployment of TCA equipment. This role blendsmechanical systems, electrical controls, and systems integration, while collaborating closely with engineering, technical support, and field operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically curious, and excited to grow into a hands-on engineering role that may include customer-site support and travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Mechanical & System Design

  • Support equipment design, updates, and refinements using SolidWorks (primary CAD platform)
  • Assist in creating and maintaining drawings, layouts, and component documentation
  • Participate in design reviews, prototyping, and system improvement initiatives

Electrical & Controls Exposure

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and pneumatic diagrams
  • Build knowledge of machine controls, industrial power systems, and sensor integration
  • Develop exposure to PLC platforms and logic (read/understand; programming is required)

Assembly, Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Support machine assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing based on engineering specifications
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues in manufacturing and field environments
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis and system reliability improvements

Field & Customer Support (Travel as needed)

  • Assist with customer installations, training, and system support as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required based on project and customer needs
  • Support technical communication between field feedback and internal engineering teams

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Technical Support, Operations, and Production to solve system challenges
  • Support engineering documentation including updates, BOM refinement, and technical notes
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards (OSHA and regulatory requirements)

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Mechanical aptitude and foundational engineering principles
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and control system schematics
  • Basic understanding of control systems with PLC exposure or eagerness to learn
  • Experience or education using SolidWorks CAD
  • Strong problem-solving and technical curiosity

PHYSICAL / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Periods of standing, bending, and working with equipment enclosures and panels

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel may be required based on project needs, installation support, or customer training.
  • Domestic and occasional international travel possible.
