API 510/Mechanical Integrity Inspector

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Mechanical Integrity Inspector to join our Asset Integrity Management team to perform API Inspections on Mechanical Integrity/RBI projects.
 

What are we looking for?

The Mechanical Integrity Inspector will work cross functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams. This position would report to the Mechanical Integrity Team Leader. This position would be responsible for API inspections and provide oversight of RBMI programs for purposes of recommending and approving repairs or certifying compliance in accordance with API standards and other industry rules and regulations. for purposes of recommending and approving repairs or certifying compliance.

What you'll do:   

    Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to     maintain the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment and piping in accordance with API 510, API  570, and API Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)
     Data entry into the Risk Based Mechanical Integrity (RBMI) database as well as develop a comprehensive RBI Inspection program. 

  • Provide oversight and make recommendations in matters related to the RBMI program.
  •  Conduct Nondestructive examination (NDE) inspections as needed.
  • Scoping, performing and/or coordinating turnaround inspection activities.
  •  Write detailed inspection and turnaround reports and maintain documentation of inspection activities.

What is takes to be successful in this role:

  • 7+years' experience in Mechanical Integrity Inspection
  • API 510 certification (additional certifications, such as 570, 653 and 580 a plus)
  • NDE and Drafting background preferred
  • Valid TWIC card (required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills a must
  • Self-motivated driven individual a must
  • Must be able to apply examination criteria in accordance with applicable standards/specifications/procedures on the provided job scopes and evaluate test results
  • Maintain open lines of communication with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Ability to provide clear and technical guidance to other technicians and subcontractors (preferred)
  • Ability to solve technical issues in the field.
