Job description

RWE Design Build is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects in the veterinary, dental, and medical sectors. This role focuses primarily on HVAC system design within an integrated design-build environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and engineer full HVAC systems for healthcare facilities

  • Perform site visits to assess existing MEP/HVAC systems

  • Develop HVAC layouts, zoning diagrams, and system plans

  • Conduct mechanical code research and ensure compliance

  • Produce 3D HVAC and piping models in Revit

  • Manage multiple projects across various design phases



Requirements
  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience (HVAC-focused)

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

  • Strong Revit proficiency

  • Experience with commercial buildings (healthcare preferred)

  • Plumbing experience a plus, but not required

  • PE license is required

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Basic knowledge of the following areas:

  • NFPA standards

  • Computer generated HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing

  • Technical Submittal reviewing process Bid reviewing process

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Bluebeam Revu

  • LEED AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED’s certification for industrial buildings.

  • Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.

  • International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes

  • ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards

  • ASPE design handbooks
