The position emphasizes the development of novel immunomodulatory or disease-modifying therapeutic approaches, as well as innovative strategies for immune protection and evasion in stem cell-derived islet cells for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute at the intersection of islet autoimmunity, translational immunology, islet cell biology, transplantation research, and stem cell biology. The position can be located at any of Mayo Clinic's campuses in Rochester, Minnesota; Phoenix, Arizona; or Jacksonville, Florida.
