Mechanical Assistant (Warehouse Helper): This career-track role assists highly skilled HVAC Service Engineers and Apprentices, and is intended to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for entrance into the UA Mechanical Trades School apprenticeship program.

Job Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

What you will do:

  • Perform refrigerant recovery on returned refrigerants to the warehouse
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, rigging, and machinery in good and safe working order
  • Maintain all warehouse vehicles in good working and safe condition: Oil changes, windshield repair/ replacement, lift gate repair, all other necessary repairs as needed
  • Deliver parts, equipment, and machinery to all Service Engineers and Apprentices as instructed
  • Support Service Engineers and Apprentices on job sites as instructed
  • Keep the warehouse clean and orderly at all times
  • Maintain tool supply cages, workbench area, and overall work space in an orderly fashion
  • Maintain the solvent recovery station, logging solvents, and clean up of area
  • Notify managers of supplies that are needed to maintain adequate inventory for the warehouse
  • Available to work on-call, as required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience and education
  • Must have a valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Knowledgeable with computers and smartphones
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment, values safety, and is genuinely interested in HVAC trade
  • Consistently punctual, self-starter, motivated, respectful, proactive, task-oriented
  • Mechanical experience and experience in the technical industry are a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent visits to job sites
  • Being able to stand and kneel for long periods of time, also be capable of lifting 100lbs frequently
  • Being able to work indoor and outdoor through all seasonal changes
