Pike Engineering is seeking a Power Engineering Technologist I to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn the utility industry, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to projects that help power communities across the country.


As a Power Engineering Technologist I, you'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to utility design and engineering projects while building a strong foundation for long-term career growth.


What You'll Do

  • Support electric utility distribution design and engineering projects
  • Apply utility standards, regulations, and engineering guidelines to project work
  • Prepare job packages, including drawings, material lists, labor estimates, and project documentation
  • Learn and utilize industry software, GIS, CAD, and other design tools
  • Evaluate electrical loading, transformers, fusing, and distribution equipment
  • Assist with developing construction-ready designs and work packages
  • Conduct field visits to gather data and verify project requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, field personnel, construction crews, and clients
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation
  • Promote and uphold Pike Engineering's commitment to safety


Qualifications

Required

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in: Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Mathematics, Science, Business, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn new software and technical systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work both in an office environment and in the field as needed

Preferred

  • 0–1 year of experience in: Utility design, Engineering support, GIS, CAD, Construction or infrastructure projects
