About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hands-On Engineering Technical Lead to drive the technical vision, development, and maintenance of our Salesforce eCommerce platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and handsโ€‘on execution. You will spend approximately 40% of your time actively writing code and refactoring critical systems, while spending the remaining time guiding technical architecture, enforcing engineering standards, and mentoring developers. As an Engineering Technical Lead, you will shape the engineering environmentโ€”establishing frameworks and best practices that eliminate technical debt and set our development team up for longโ€‘term scalability and success.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Engineering Technical Lead (40%) Shape Technical Strategy: Define the broader technical design, core development frameworks, and development standards across our Salesforce Commerce ecosystem.
  • Standards & Quality: Establish guidelines for code structure, integration patterns, and deployment pipelines. Proactively manage and minimize technical debt.
  • Documentation & Specifications: Maintain clear, up-to-date technical design documents, API/integration specifications, and deployment guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, business analysts, and cross-functional technology teams to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Handsโ€‘On Software Engineering (40%) Core Development: Write highโ€‘quality, productionโ€‘ready code for highโ€‘impact features, complex integrations, and core platform enhancements.
  • Refactoring & Problem Solving: Step in to refactor existing codebase, troubleshoot critical system issues, and optimize application performance when required.
  • Tooling & Language Expertise: Maintain a strong command of modern programming languages, web engineering practices, and Salesforce development tools.
  • Deep handsโ€‘on expertise across the Salesforce Commerce ecosystem (B2B/D2C Lightning), including LWC, Apex, Controllers, and Business Manager.
  • You bring strong web engineering skills (ES6+, SLDS, APIs/OCAPI/SCAPI) and proven experience integrating Salesforce eCommerce with enterprise middleware (MuleSoft/WebMethods), ERPs, and thirdโ€‘party commerce services.
  • Additionally, you are wellโ€‘versed in modern DevOps (Git, CI/CD, SFDX), web performance optimization, OWASP security standards, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Team Mentorship & Engineering Excellence (20%) Code Reviews & PR Oversight: Rigorously review code, track pull requests, and ensure all submissions adhere to established performance, security, and coding standards.
  • Developer Mentorship: Guide and mentor juniorโ€‘toโ€‘midโ€‘level developers, helping them make efficient choices that save time and build strong engineering skills.
  • Agile & Process Optimization: Enforce modern software development processes to ensure predictable, highโ€‘quality, and timely delivery.

  • eCommerce Experience: 8+ years of experience delivering and scaling goโ€‘toโ€‘market eCommerce solutions.
  • Salesforce Ecosystem Mastery: Deep handsโ€‘on knowledge and expertise across the Salesforce ecosystem (Salesforce Commerce Cloud / B2B/B2C Commerce, Apex, LWC, integrations, and APIs).
  • Handsโ€‘On Coding Skills: Strong technical proficiency with modern web languages, frameworks, and tools, with a proven track record of writing clean, maintainable code.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$138,000.00 - $234,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $153,000.00 - $261,000.00 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a shortโ€‘term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI). At MiniMed, we are committed to supporting the wellโ€‘being and financial security of our employees.
