Job Description
Compensation range for this position is: $80,000-$125,000
This position will support the planning, design, and rehabilitation of water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, stormwater systems, and pumping stations. The role requires a highly capable engineering support professional with strong technical understanding of industrial mechanical process systems and advanced proficiency in Revit/CAD modeling and production.
The ideal candidate is not only proficient in BIM/Revit production, but also capable of supporting engineering coordination, equipment layout development, interdisciplinary design integration, vendor coordination, and overall project delivery support across multiple assignments.
This position will be heavily focused on detailed Revit and CAD layout/model development associated with water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including:
  • Pumps, piping systems, valves, and appurtenances
  • Wet wells, pump stations, and process piping systems
  • Headworks, screening, and grit removal systems
  • Aeration, filtration, clarification, and dewatering systems
  • Odor control systems
  • Chemical feed and disinfection systems
  • Sludge and residual handling systems
  • Mechanical equipment layouts and coordination
  • Structural and architectural coordination within BIM environments

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed Revit/CAD models and design layouts for water, wastewater, and pumping station projects.
  • Prepare plans, sections, details, schedules, and coordinated construction drawings.
  • Support engineering teams with mechanical process layout development and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Coordinate with process, structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and architectural disciplines.
  • Assist engineers with equipment arrangement studies, piping layouts, constructability reviews, and design coordination.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors and manufacturers for equipment selection, dimensional verification, and BIM content integration.
  • Review and incorporate vendor shop drawings and equipment information into project models.
  • Support clash detection, model coordination, and Navisworks reviews.
  • Develop and maintain Revit BIM content including parametric families, nested families, and type catalogs.
  • Support model administration, linked models, work sharing environments, and BIM360 workflows.
  • Verify compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and company drafting/modeling standards.
  • Identify discrepancies, coordination conflicts, and constructability concerns within the design.
  • Work collaboratively with remote engineering and design teams across multiple offices.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in Revit/CAD modeling for water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing detailed mechanical process layouts involving pumps, piping systems, valves, and treatment equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical/process systems used in water, wastewater, and pumping station facilities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering markups, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment layouts.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting pumping station and treatment plant rehabilitation projects.
  • Familiarity with construction coordination, shop drawing review, and field verification.
  • Experience working directly with engineers during design development and production phases.
