Job Description TITLE: Mechanical Engineer II COMP: $70,000 - $90,000 per year LOCATION: Lebanon, IN Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Mechanical Engineer II direct hire position in Lebanon, IN. Duties: Design and model products or systems that are germicidal or use UV rays to clean parts/products. Lead projects independently from concept through completion, including project planning and execution.

Mentor and guide junior engineers without direct management responsibility. Design products ranging from handheld devices to large systems up to 120 feet long and 5 feet wide, supporting diverse industries (healthcare, water treatment, food & beverage, HVAC, pharmaceutical). Collaborate with document control to ensure design accuracy and compliance.

Develop test plans and validate designs post-assembly. Work with manufacturing to troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Coordinate with controls, electrical, and software teams to develop machine control systems.

Engage with vendors for procurement of parts and materials. Utilize a CAD library for standard design modifications and create fully custom designs as needed. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to design changes and client requests.

Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) including purchased and fabricated components. Perform R&D, calculations, and technical analyses to support design decisions. Approximately 80% design work, 10-15% shop floor support; hands-on involvement is encouraged.

Convert 2D drawings to 3D models when workflow allows. Communicate effectively with internal engineers, shop floor personnel, and customers. Required Skills (Must have): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; Associates considered with substantial relevant experience.

5+ years of experience in design engineering, managing projects from concept to completion. Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Vault (mandatory). Strong experience designing sheet metal products, systems, and components.

Knowledge of test and measurement equipment, and prior experience developing test plans. Ability to perform engineering calculations (stress, strain, etc.) to validate designs. Experience creating and managing BOMs and translating designs for manufacturing (DXF files)

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills. #ID9515
