From technical to operational to professional disciplines, our team brings a wide variety of skills, talents, and expertise to the table. We believe in both dedicating ourselves to excellence and investing in your growth.

As an Engineer, Technical Services, you will support fleet-wide engineering efforts that improve the reliability, performance, and long-term effectiveness of Associated Electric Cooperative's generation assets. You'll work across HRSG systems, high energy piping, emissions-control equipment, and plant reliability programs to help turn complex technical issues into practical solutions that keep power generation operations moving safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Support HRSG reliability efforts through inspection planning, outage coordination, condition assessments, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with outage execution by evaluating equipment condition, documenting findings, and coordinating repair recommendations.
  • Lead mechanical and operational support for SCR catalyst management, including vendor coordination, cleaning strategies, replacement planning, and outage activities.
  • Develop scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, project plans, cost estimates, and maintenance recommendations for assigned systems.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel, contractors, vendors, and internal technical experts to solve equipment reliability and performance challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement across power generation, emissions-control systems, outage planning, and long-range maintenance strategies.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
  • Engineering experience in power generation, industrial process equipment, boiler or HRSG systems, emissions-control systems, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, inspection planning, maintenance coordination, and equipment reliability principles.
  • Familiarity with outage support, contractor coordination, technical specifications, and engineering project support.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues, manage multiple priorities, and clearly communicate recommendations to plant and corporate stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with HRSG systems, pressure-part equipment, emissions-control equipment, or catalyst-related systems.
  • Experience with vendor coordination, lifecycle planning, and long-range maintenance or capital planning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable work scopes.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to build effective relationships across plant, engineering, and vendor teams.
  • Experience in piping weld procedures, inspections, and code compliance
