Job description

DGR Engineering is seeking a Wastewater Engineer to join our water and wastewater team. Our wastewater professionals specialize in the planning, design, and construction of collection and treatment systems serving municipal, industrial, and private clients throughout the region.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects, from earlystage planning and feasibility studies through final design, bidding, and construction administration. Typical projects include:

  • Mechanical wastewater treatment facilities
  • Lagoon systems and constructed wetlands
  • Lift stations and force mains
  • Gravity sewer collection systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design and analysis for wastewater collection and treatment systems
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Assist with project bidding and contractor coordination
  • Provide construction administration and construction observation services
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum GPA of 3.0 required)
  • Emphasis or coursework in:
    • Wastewater Treatment
    • Wastewater Collection Systems
  • Working knowledge of Excel and AutoCAD; additional design software experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and project stakeholders

Location Requirement

Applicants must be willing to relocate to within commuting distance of Rock Rapids, Iowa.
