This position reports to:
Smart Process Design Manager
The Mechanical Design Specialist is responsible for the design, documentation, safety, and standardization of mechanical systems and components used in production equipment and plant layouts. This role supports manufacturing operations by creating detailed CAD models, maintaining fixture and assembly records, and developing engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs). Additionally, this role will evaluate and support production equipment safety through risk assessments and team training. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring design consistency, manufacturability, safety, and alignment with operational requirements.
The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Smart Process Design Team in New Berlin, WI. You will report to the Smart Process Design Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Design and develop mechanical components and production equipment
  • Create and maintain plant layout CAD drawings
  • Manage fixture and assembly numbers and ensure traceability
  • Coordinate and support production-focused 4D investigations involving equipment safety
  • Perform risk assessments and ensure production equipment complies with relevant safety standards
  • Generate and maintain accurate engineering drawings and BOMs
  • Support standardization of mechanical designs across equipment platforms

Qualifications for the role:
  • You are immersed in modern manufacturing processes with a safety mindset
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience with 3+ years CAD Design, preferably Solid Works
  • Possess enhanced knowledge of manufacturing, process standardization, safety, & mechanical design
  • You are passionate about driving change through innovation and collaboration
  • 2 Year Technical degree in manufacturing or related field
  • You are at ease communicating and working in a team environment
  • You are an American citizen or currently hold a US VISA / work permit
