Job description

Description The City of Springfield's Environmental Services Department is posting the Senior Industrial Machinery Mechanic position - INTERNAL ONLY for City of Springfield employees. This position will perform highly skilled predictive and preventative maintenance techniques in plant mechanic work to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair plant and lift station equipment using data-driven analysis, troubleshooting methodologies and continuous improvement in coordination with plant management. There are up to 5 promotional opportunities at the Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant and 1 promotional opportunity at the Northwest Treatment Plant.

Qualifications and Requirements Experience, Education, and Training Requires at least five (5) years' experience in industrial or wastewater maintenance; PREFERRED Completion of technical school or apprenticeship is preferred but not required.

Licensing/Certification Must possess a valid driver's license; A Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) that would enable the driver to operate a vehicle with airbrakes, tanker and appropriate endorsements is required within the probationary period; Must possess and maintain a Class D Wastewater License or equivalent.
