Job description

Mechanical & Plumbing Service Technician  

$24-$32/hr depending on level and experience

Titan Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is a growing commercial and multifamily construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality mechanical and plumbing solutions throughout the region. As our Service Division continues to expand, we are seeking skilled and motivated Service Technicians to join our team.

In this role, you will respond to service calls, diagnose and resolve issues, and provide exceptional support to our clients by utilizing your technical expertise and trade knowledge. Our technicians play a critical role in maintaining strong customer relationships and upholding Titan's reputation for quality and reliability.

This position includes participation in a rotating weekend on-call schedule. Technicians who respond to after-hours or weekend service calls are compensated accordingly, including applicable overtime pay.

This is not a sales position. All of our technicians are working on buildings with pre-established warranties. Our technicians are responsible for completing work that is only covered by warranty and/or contract. 

Requirements

  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as business needs require. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including potential start times as early as 5:00 a.m.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience as a laborer, skilled laborer, helper
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with coworkers, customers, and other trades.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions to expand technical knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to lift five to fifty pounds (5-50lbs), with or without assistance, frequently.
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for duration of shift.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • High school diploma/GED (experience may be substituted for education)
  • Possess good balance, agility, eye-hand coordination, flexibility, depth perception, peripheral vision, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors for identification of wiring, piping, components, and safety markings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by listening to customer concerns, assessing issues, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Complete service tickets while on jobsite.
  • Use company materials, parts, tools, and equipment efficiently and responsibly.
  • Learn appropriate HVAC procedures and basic codes.
  • Perform brazing and pipe sweating independently and safely.
  • Knowledge of piping techniques.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical system issues.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Independently perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Be reliable.
  • Safely and effectively operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other trade-specific tools.
  • Maintaining CFC and Apprentice License.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Reports to Service Manager and/or Field Supervisor
