Description:

TAKKION is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in trucks, heavy equipment, and other diesel-powered machinery. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our fleet and equipment supporting renewable energy operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Conduct engine overhauls, fuel system repairs, and emissions testing.
  • Replace or repair faulty components, including fuel injectors, turbochargers, and cooling systems.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Follow company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status, parts requirements, and job priorities.
  • Stay current with advancements in diesel engine technology and industry best practices.
Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, repair tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
