We're Hiring: Small Engine Mechanic (Experienced)

Service Department | Outdoor Power Equipment & Lawn/Garden Dealer

Mow Power & Tempe Power Equipment are employee-owned Outdoor Power Equipment dealers with 25+ years of experience in the industry, which means when you join our team, you're joining a company where every team member has a stake in our success. We're looking for an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our Service Team.

Pay: $23.00 – $28.00 / hour, based on experience, plus performance bonus program

About the Role

As a Small Engine Mechanic, you'll maintain and repair 2-cycle equipment, rotary lawn mowers generators, zero turn mowers and related outdoor power equipment, keeping our customers' machines — and our rental fleet — running strong. This is a hands-on role for an experienced mechanic who takes pride in quality repairs and clear communication with customers.

What You'll Do

• Maintain and repair a variety of Outdoor Power Equipment and other related gas-powered equipment

• Conduct regular inspections, diagnose issues, and implement necessary repairs

• Perform routine servicing, record maintenance history, and ensure optimal equipment condition

• Follow safety protocols, stay updated on industry standards, and conduct safety inspections

• Assist with maintenance and repair of the company's rental fleet equipment

• Stay informed about equipment developments, evaluate performance, and make upgrade recommendations

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in small engine repair preferred

• Proven mechanic experience, preferably in lawn care or landscaping industry

• Strong knowledge of rotary lawn mowers, small engines (2- and 4-stroke), and related equipment

• Experience with zero turn riding mowers preferred

• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

• Ability to provide repair quotes, understand warranty processes, and interpret technical specifications

• Familiarity with safety protocols

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
