POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Hot Side Technician to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as an active EPA Certification. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial hot side kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, steamers, grills, warmers, kettles, and other cooking appliances
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Conduct safety inspections and verify compliance with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry 
• Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs 

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT 

This position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting
• 2+ years of working on industrail / commerical kicthen equipment 
• Strong knowledge of gas, electric, and steam-operated cooking equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Valid Driver License w/acceptable driving record
• Active EPA Certification
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer by checking in and out with them on jobs. Able to explain the problems and resolution in a manner that the customer can understand.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
