We are seeking an experienced and skilled Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to join our team at SRM Concrete. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, mixers, and other heavy machinery used in the concrete industry. This role is critical to ensuring our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to meet our project demands and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic problems in diesel engines and equipment.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine the necessary repairs.
  • Rebuild, replace, or repair major components of diesel engines, such as heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on the job site. - Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the concrete industry or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety standards and protocols.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
