Location: IAMGOLD at the Westwood Mine
Rotation:  7 day on, 7 day off or possibilities 14 day on, 14 day off
Shift Length: 12 hours workers 13 hours supervision
Allowance: Will be provided based on location

Job Summarys:

Mechanical Supervisor:

  • The primary role of the Mechanical Supervisor is the direct supervision of the underground and surface mechanical personnel to ensure that all mobile and fixed equipment are maintained, repaired and functioning according to project requirements, and safety standards. The Mechanical Foreman is required to work closely with the Project Superintendent regarding the production goals and the role the maintenance department plays in achieving them. Oversees all phases of equipment maintenance, risk controls, and materials management
     

Requirement and Work Experience: 

  • Journeyman Certificate (421A) (preferred)

  • 1-week Redpath Mechanical Supervisor Orientation 

  • 7+ years' experience as a Heavy-Duty Technician (preferred) 

  • 5+ years' experience in the mining industry

  • 2+ years' experience in a lead role

Mechanic
 

The primary role of the Mechanic is to perform preventive maintenance and repairs to diesel, electrical, hydraulic and air operated equipment. This includes mobile equipment hoists, compressors, drills, small tools and miscellaneous equipment of a similar nature.

Requirement and Work Experience

  • Journeyman level qualification (trade school or college diploma) - (preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years underground mechanical experience
