An Apprentice is becoming a skilled professional with both classroom learning and on-the-job training. You gain everything you need for career success. You'll create with your hands, working outdoors in different environments, and tell your family and friends "I helped build that". (Do you have Apprentice credits from somewhere else? They might transfer to our certified NCCER program.)

Your main Tasks:

  • To work safely no matter what. Safety is our highest priority.
  • Learn to lay out and install commercial duct work in a wide variety of job settings.
  • Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale duct work.
  • Properly finish and seal duct work.
  • Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roof.
  • Assist with installing commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Learn to usea variety of power& hand tools.
  • Complete class and at-home study with skills and textbook testing.

Experience or Certification needed:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience using hand tools and tape measure is a plus.

You need to be able to:

  • Keep it a Drug-free Workplace.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Work as a team.
  • Do Basic "Tape measure math".
  • Work in extremes of heat, cold and bad weather, indoors and outdoors.
  • Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Work efficiently in confined spaces.
  • Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
  • Exercise fine motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.
