Description:

The Mechanical Engineer works in a team environment to provide support for design, development, and production of JE Technology Solutions manufactured products, to deliver results within the targeted deadlines. Mechanical Engineers must maintain engineering documentation, comply with project requirements, meet project schedule deadlines, and work to resolve all queries with designs. This includes all aspects of automation and programming support for manufacturing equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design, development, and verification activities across the product lifecycle.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design performance, operational integrity, and system functionality.
  • Develop and maintain 3D parametric product designs using SolidWorks, PDM, CadLink to meet product requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings (part, assembly, and installation) in accordance with ASME standards.
  • Design components and systems using aluminum, carbon steel and stainless-steel materials, ensuring manufacturability and compliance.
  • Execute engineering projects from concept through delivery, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer specifications and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain product schedules and plan engineering activities aligned with the overall product life cycle and project timelines.
  • Create and manage Bills of Material (BOMs) in MRP/ERP systems (e.g., PDM Pro, Aptean, Made2Manage).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project team members to meet technical requirements, schedules, and cost objectives.
  • Provide technical support to external design partners, equipment vendors, and fabricators.
  • Review and approve fabricator and external design drawings, documentation, and fabrication sequencing for compliance and quality.
  • Provide project scoping input to support accurate estimates, appropriate material selection, and efficient design methods.
  • Act as a liaison with client representatives to resolve issues related to drawings, specifications, and interpretation of contract documents.
  • Review conformance to contract specifications and resolve conflicts in interpretation.
  • Evaluate technical information and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Support on-site installations, including development of installation drawings and troubleshooting issues both on-site and remotely.
  • Travel to fabrication shops and customer sites for meetings, inspections, functional testing, and installation support.
  • Responsible for writing weekly progress reports of essential information on the status of assigned projects.
  • Assumes additional assignments willingly, as assigned by the department manager.
Requirements:
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • 5 years of proven work experience as a Mechanical Engineer including design of parts, assemblies and drawings.
  • Experience with projects or assemblies from conception to delivery is required.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.
  • Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Bachelor Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • 5 years of strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and PDM Pro is highly desired.
  • 5 years hands on working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with 2 years of experience with creating Power Point presentations.
  • Hands-on experience with reading and interpretation of blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with and understanding weldments, weld callouts and sheet metal design.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to clients’ work sites.
