Job description

What you will be doing as a Brake Press Operator:
  • Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
  • Writes part programs and stores in machine.
  • Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints.
  • Positions work piece manually or with crane.
  • Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends or cuts metal.
  • Verifies dimensions of work piece and make adjustments if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

What it takes to be a Brake Press Operator with MEC:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Ability to train and work with others (Team Concept).
  • Reliability
