Job Summary
As a part of the Sendik's team, the Meat & Seafood Associate is responsible for delivering "best in class" customer service to all guests at the meat counter and on the sales floor. The main responsibility of the Meat Associate is to weigh, package and price items from the meat and seafood case. The Meat & Seafood Associate will also assist in miscellaneous duties, including, but not limited to, filling the meat and seafood case when it gets low, maintaining the back coolers and cleaning.

Work Experience
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serve customers in the Meat & Seafood Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
  • Weighing, packaging and pricing items from the meat and seafood case
  • Assist customers with answering questions and making recommendations
  • Assist with maintaining the back cooler including; rotating stock, dating and cleaning
  • Assist Meat and Seafood Department with stocking, rotating and facing meat and seafood products in the case and on the sales floor
  • Assist with minimal food preparation, including, but not limited to, Top Shelf creation (i.e. gourmet burgers, kabobs, etc.) and meat grinding
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Meat and Seafood Department
  • Maintain sanitation and temperature logs as needed
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Meat & Seafood Department
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Assist with all other Meat and Seafood Department duties as needed

Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age due to required operation of Meat and Seafood equipment
  • Eagerness to interact with customers
  • Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team
  • Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervision
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
