Job description

The starting wage for this position will be between $75k & $95k Depending on experience.
The Meat Production Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all plant equipment is operating at specification, all PMs are scheduled and conducted per schedule, and there is minimum unscheduled equipment downtime at the Gold Canyon Meat Co and Seafood facilities in Phoenix and Denver. Time investment is expected to be 80% in Phoenix and 20% in Denver. Work involves supervising maintenance staff, scheduling and assigning work, requisitioning materials and supplies, estimating work hours and material required for projects, and coordinating activities.
Essential Duties:
  • Supervise and supports the completion of all equipment and facility maintenance activities as measured by Preventive Maintenance schedule compliance and equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all department functions as measured by the safety record, accident free days, lost time days, and total dollars spent
  • Ensure all equipment is working efficiently and supports energy management and utility cost control initiatives
  • Prepare estimates of work hours, materials, and resources required for projects; approve and initiate requisitions for materials and supplies; and prepare reports and maintain records of repairs.
  • Using Maximo CMMS, prepare reports and analysis examining progress of work orders. Audit consistently complete data entry of subordinates.
  • Ensure budget compliance for maintenance labor and expenses. Provides recommendations to continually improve budget expenses. Assists manager in developing annual budgets.
  • Plan Preventive and Predictive Maintenance of production assets. Identify adverse trends and take appropriate action to correct or make recommendations and/or conclusions.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to coordinate all maintenance activities to ensure all production target and customer service levels are being met as measured by the division key performance indicators.
  • Maintain the most cost-effective spare parts inventory levels, while securing an accurately and sufficiently stocked parts area(s).
  • Support training to ensure all maintenance personnel are properly trained to meet current and future maintenance organization demands as measured by skill assessments.
  • Ensure compliance for all governmental regulations as well as customer related inspections to include, USDA, FDA, OSHA, HASAP, AIS, Silliker, SQF, State, County and Federal inspections as measured by actual and mock audit results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in a technical field and five years' experience in operation and maintenance of a meat processing facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in the supervision of employees.
  • Excellent people skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software
  • Technical skills: o Working knowledge of industrial equipment utilization and maintenance in a production facility
  • Working knowledge of reporting methods and tools for tracking and managing key performance metrics
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, PLC software and CMMS
  • Familiar with OSHA and EPA Requirements related to maintenance
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
