Job description

Meadowbrook Academy is currently accepting applications for a Secondary Math Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This individual shouldbean active and dedicated Christian who is (or willing to become) a member of Meadowbrook Church. A person who will hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others. A person committed to excellence in their responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution.
  • Certified Teacher OR working towards certification by the State of Florida.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of child growth and development, especially of characteristics of children in the age group assigned.
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices for middle and high school math content, including General Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Consumer Math.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology (Newline Smart Board, Curriculum Trak, Skyward).
  • Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.
  • Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others.
  • Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness that align with Florida B.E.S.T State Standards.
  • Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and adjust instruction to improve learning outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly and Christ-centered learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.
