Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Lead MDM Analyst is a senior individual contributor with handson ownership of Master Data Management (MDM) platform execution across enterprise master data domains. Reporting to the Manager of Data Management, this role is responsible for technically configuring, and operating MDM capabilities, translating businessdefined master data rules into scalable technical implementations, and ensuring consistent, highquality mastered data across systems.

This role carries endtoend execution responsibility for Supplier MDM technical configurations-such as matchandmerge logic, survivorship rules, hierarchies, and reference data structures-and serves as a technical authority and escalation point for MDM design and implementation decisions within IT.

This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, within Novelis' Data, Analytics & AI organization. You will join a team whose leaders are accountable for intentionally engaging their people - connecting often, empowering ideas regardless of title, and acting with intention - and where mastered, trusted data is treated as a first-class enterprise asset.

This role is aligned to the Data Management pillar and owns or contributes to the following enterprise capabilities:

  • Master & Reference Data Platform (Supplier MDM)
  • Data Quality Management Platform (MDMembedded rules and workflows)
ResponsibilitiesMDM Platform Ownership & Execution
  • Own and execute MDM configurations across master data domains, including matchandmerge logic, survivorship rules, golden record behavior, hierarchies, and reference data relationships.
  • Translate approved business master data rules into robust, scalable MDM implementations, making technical design decisions that balance data quality, performance, and operational impact.
  • Serve as the technical authority for MDM execution, providing guidance and oversight for configurations, changes, and domain expansions.
  • Configure and maintain domain data models and ensure consistent application of standards across regions and source systems.
Governance, Quality & Stewardship Enablement
  • Ensure master data configurations comply with enterprise governance and stewardship workflows, including approvals, audit traceability, and controlled change management.
  • Embed data quality rules and remediation workflows within MDM processes in close alignment with the Data Quality platform.
  • Actively support stewardship adoption by ensuring MDM workflows are technically sound, usable, and aligned with business operating needs.
  • Contribute to data domain harmonization efforts by implementing consistent definitions, hierarchies, and reference values across master data domains.
Change, Testing & Operational Excellence
  • Lead impact analysis, testing, and validation of MDM changes across upstream and downstream systems to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Support controlled releases, issue resolution, and operational troubleshooting for complex master data scenarios.
  • Identify opportunities to improve MDM performance, scalability, and automation, proactively addressing technical debt.
Strategic Traceability & Enterprise Alignment
  • Align work execution to Novelis' enterprise strategic data outcomes including trusted data, operational reliability, metal flow optimization, 330 sustainability goals, and cash focus/operational efficiency.
  • Support the enterprise Data & AI Governance framework, ensuring governance is embedded into all workflows and deliverables.
  • Contribute to quarterly planning, feature scoping, and sprint execution aligned to the enterprise delivery roadmap and KPI framework.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, Master Data Management, data quality, or related domains.
  • Handson experience with enterprise MDM platforms (e.g., Informatica MDM, Informatica IDMC).
  • Handson experience with master data domains matchandmerge logic, survivorship rules, golden record behavior, hierarchies, and reference data relationships.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, stewardship workflows, and metadata concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or certification such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent.
  • Informatica IDMC MDM Certification or Advance Cloud Data Management Certification
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or sustainabilityfocused organizations.
  • Familiarity with privacy and compliance concepts as they relate to master data domains.
