Job description
Given the value-based emphasis, physicians will spend more time with each patient than the typical primary care setting. Physicians focus on HEDIS and quality performance; patient utilization and access; referral management and coordination; and panel growth and engagement.
A summary of physician responsibilities is provided below:
- Independently provide care for patients with acute and chronic illness encountered in the older adult patient
- Ability to diagnose and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerotic disease, COPD, CHF, obesity, etc. in the senior population
- Accountable for patient care and outcomes and will appropriately seek consultation from specialists when needed
- Engage with hospitalists whenever a patient is in the hospital
Qualified physicians will be Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians, have at least 3 years’ experience in outpatient primary care experience, and will be ACLS/BLS certified.
The compensation for the selected candidate will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications as they align with the role's requirements. In addition to a competitive salary, client provides an attractive Employment Benefits Package (Health Insurance, 401 (K) Plan, Paid Time-Off, etc.), and a healthy Sign-On Bonus.
In Alabama, there are currently current full-time primary care physician opportunities in Mobile, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Decatur.
