Position Overview:
The Transportation / Activities Aide is responsible for the safe transportation of
residents to and from the facility during approved activities to pre-determined destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate the facility's vehicle in a safe manner when transporting residents.
• Assists the residents when on-boarding and off-boarding the vehicle.
• Ensures the residents' safe arrival to the pre-determined destination and the facility.
• Maintains route and mileage logs.
• Monitors routine vehicle safety conditions including fuel and vital fluid levels.
• Reports any vehicle problems, or maintenance needs to the Executive Director
immediately.
• Ensures that all vehicle passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat
belts, prior to moving the van.
• Interacts in a positive manner with the residents and visitors as a representative of the facility.
Qualifications:
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Excellent driving record.
• Must be CPR Certified, certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing
• Certified Nursing Assistant certificate current and in good standing; CNA certificate preferred but not required.
