What is an MBA part time?

An MBA Part-Time job typically refers to a role that allows professionals to work while pursuing a part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. These roles are often flexible, enabling students to balance their studies and work responsibilities. Employers may offer part-time arrangements to support employees' career growth and education. Such jobs can be in various fields, including finance, marketing, consulting, or management.

What are different types of part-time jobs for MBA students?

Part-time MBA jobs for master’s degree students in a business program often focus on providing practical experience in their area of study. As an MBA student, you can pursue an internship in finance, management, or human resources during your postgraduate studies. Some part-time MBA jobs are not technically internships, but part-time employment. The responsibilities and duties of these positions vary depending on the industry. For example, a marketing student can help the marketing department of a company promote a brand or organize an ad campaign. A business intelligence analyst interprets analytics and uses them to advise clients or company decision-makers and stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the MBA part time position?

Succeeding as a part-time MBA professional requires a solid background in business fundamentals, such as finance, marketing, strategy, and leadership, paired with a recognized undergraduate degree and relevant work experience. Familiarity with enterprise software like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems, as well as completion of core MBA coursework, is typically expected. Exceptional time management, self-motivation, and networking abilities are crucial soft skills that distinguish candidates in this role. These competencies ensure you can balance academic, professional, and personal responsibilities while maximizing the practical impact of your MBA studies.

What are the typical time commitments and flexibility options for part-time MBA roles?

Part-time MBA positions, whether they are student roles or professional opportunities requiring an MBA in a flexible format, often involve managing work responsibilities alongside ongoing academic commitments. Many employers and academic programs offer flexible schedules, remote work options, or evening/weekend commitments to help balance your workload. While balancing multiple priorities can be demanding, effective planning and communication with your team or employer can help you succeed. This flexible structure is designed to enable working professionals to advance their education and careers without pausing full-time employment.

Is getting a part-time MBA worth it?

A part-time MBA can enhance career prospects by developing management skills and expanding professional networks while allowing continued employment. It typically requires balancing coursework with work commitments and may lead to higher earning potential and leadership opportunities. The value depends on individual career goals and the quality of the program chosen.

This role reflects MBA’s commitment to academic excellence, character development, and preparing students for college, career, and life success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instruction & Co-Teaching Excellence

  • Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) within general education classrooms using evidence-based co-teaching models (i.e., team teaching, parallel teaching, station teaching, and alternative teaching).

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to develop rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Modify curriculum, materials, pacing, and assessments based on IEP goals and student needs.

  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology according to each student’s IEP.

  • Use regular progress monitoring (aimswebPlus) and data review to guide instruction and interventions.

IEP Development, Implementation & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain compliant IEPs using the district-approved platform (TNPulse).

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including service logs, progress reports, and parent communication records.

  • Participate in eligibility, annual, reevaluation, MDR, and parent meetings in accordance with Tennessee and MBA timelines.

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data to support progress toward all IEP and BIP goals.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Engage in weekly co-planning with general education teachers to ensure instructional alignment and shared ownership of student outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, behavior specialists) to deliver coordinated services.

  • Communicate consistently with families regarding student progress, support needs, classroom expectations, and celebrations.

  • Participate in PLCs, MTSS/RTI² meetings, and schoolwide data discussions to support continuous improvement.

Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support

  • Support implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and use proactive, positive behavior strategies aligned with MBA’s culture.

  • Provide small group or individual social-emotional skill-building when appropriate.

  • Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that aligns with MBA’s behavioral expectations and character development focus.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Model professionalism, strong follow-through, and reliability consistent with MBA staff expectations.

  • Attend required MBA and network-wide professional development, including training on co-teaching, curriculum, intervention, and compliance.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all federal, state, and network policies.

  • Demonstrate alignment with MBA’s mission, vision, and belief in the potential of all students.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid Tennessee Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement (Interventionist K–8, Modified K–12, Comprehensive K–12, or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Tennessee special education procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support students in inclusive classroom settings.

Preferred

  • Experience in urban education and/or charter school environments.

  • Prior experience with co-teaching models and inclusion-based service delivery.

  • Training in evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions and de-escalation strategies.

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Teaching occurs primarily within general education classrooms with occasional pull-aside small-group instruction.

  • Must be able to lift, assist, or support students according to safety guidelines when necessary.

  • Requires regular use of technology, instructional materials, and mobility around the school campus.
