Join us and help the world's leading organizationsunlock the value of technology and build a more sustainable, more inclusive world.

About the Role You're Considering

We are seeking a seasoned IBM Maximo Architect to provide strategic leadership and architectural direction for large-scale, complex Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Asset Performance Management (APM) initiatives.  This Senior Manager role requires deep expertise across the full Maximo ecosystem - including legacy versions through Maximo Application Suite (MAS) - combined with proven ability to define enterprise architecture, lead major transformations (upgrades, migrations, modernizations), and align Maximo solutions with business strategy, IT standards, and emerging technologies.

The ideal candidate has architected and governed Maximo deployments in Fortune 500 or large public-sector environments, often in utilities, oil & gas, manufacturing, transportation, or facilities management.

Your Role

  • Define and own the enterprise architecture for IBM Maximo solutions, including high-level design, reference architecture, integration patterns, data models, security models, and scalability frameworks
  • Lead strategic road mapping, solution visioning, and long-term modernization efforts (e.g., Maximo 7.6 MAS 8.x/9.x migrations, cloud adoption)
  • Conduct current-state assessments, fit/gap analysis, feasibility studies, and risk evaluations; develop comprehensive architectural blueprints and transition roadmaps
  • Architect end-to-end integrations using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), MEA, OSLC, REST APIs, Kafka, or other ESBs; design patterns for ERP (SAP, Oracle), GIS, SCADA, IoT platforms, and mobility solutions
  • Provide architectural governance across projects: review detailed designs, enforce standards, ensure alignment with IBM best practices, enterprise IT policies, and industry frameworks
  • Lead complex technical decisions around performance optimization, high availability, security architecture, data migration strategy, and cloud-native deployments
  • Collaborate with key level stakeholders, program managers, and cross-functional teams to translate business vision into technical architecture and value realization
  • Ensure compliance, auditability, and regulatory alignment in highly regulated industries
Your Skills and Experience
  • 12+ -15 years of progressive experience with IBM Maximo, including at least 6+ years in architect-level roles leading enterprise-scale implementations, upgrades, and transformations
  • Extensive expertise across Maximo versions: 7.1-7.6, Maximo Asset Management 8.x, Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8.x/9.x, and related components
  • Deep architectural knowledge of:
    • Maximo core architecture, data model, and extensibility points
    • Integration patterns and technologies (MIF, MEA, REST/OSLC, web services, middleware)
    • Automation Scripting, Java customizations, MBO extensions, workflows, escalations
    • Database design (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server), performance tuning, and large-scale data migration
    • Security, HA/DR, cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Proven success leading major Maximo migrations, cloud transitions, or multi-instance consolidations
  • Strong understanding of EAM/APM business processes and industry-specific requirements
  • Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently at the enterprise level while collaborating in global, matrixed organization
  • IBM certifications: IBM Certified Solution Architect (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with complementary technologies: GIS (Esri), SCADA, ERP integrations, mobility platforms (Preferred)
  • Domain expertise in utilities, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, or public infrastructure (Preferred)
  • Prior experience leading architecture practices, COEs, or governance boards (Preferred)
  • Exposure to agile/DevOps methodologies in large-scale EAM programs (Preferred)
