Global Mobility & Migration Associate Attorney
Location: Washington, DC
Compensation: $260,000–$310,000

Direct Counsel is seeking a Global Mobility & Migration Associate to join the Global Mobility & Migration Practice of a leading international law firm in Washington, DC. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 3–4 years of business immigration experience who is looking to advise multinational employers on sophisticated U.S. employment-based immigration matters and global workforce mobility strategies.

The ideal candidate has experience managing corporate immigration portfolios, advising employers on complex immigration issues, and handling a broad range of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters.

Responsibilities
  • Advise corporate clients on U.S. employment-based immigration strategies to support workforce planning and talent mobility.
  • Prepare and manage a broad range of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters, including H-1B, L-1, PERM labor certifications, I-140 petitions (EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3), and adjustment of status applications.
  • Draft petitions, applications, responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other submissions to U.S. immigration agencies.
  • Counsel clients on immigration compliance, regulatory requirements, and evolving immigration policies.
  • Interface with government agencies, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of State (DOS).
  • Research and analyze changes in immigration laws, regulations, and agency guidance affecting client matters.
  • Assist with immigration audits, compliance reviews, and related corporate immigration initiatives.
  • Manage client immigration portfolios while providing exceptional client service and collaborating with multidisciplinary legal teams.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 3–4 years of business immigration experience.
  • Experience handling a broad range of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters.
  • Experience managing corporate immigration portfolios and advising employer clients.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary of $260,000–$310,000, depending on experience.
