Summary

American Fan has an opportunity for a Welder based in our Fairfield, OH facility. In this role, you will be responsible for working with your team and manager to ensure parts are processed according to shop drawings using appropriate welding and measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to build relationships across all functional areas within the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fit, tack, and weld mild carbon steel, 304 & 316 stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Assemble utilizing MIG and TIG welding equipment as well as plasma torch equipment
  • Process parts according to shop drawings using appropriate welding and measurement equipment with minimal supervision
  • Produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner with minimal to no spatter
  • Minimize scrap and maintain quality standards
  • Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and assigned work areas daily
  • Report any malfunction, damage, or repair needs to leadership immediately
  • Accurately complete required clerical forms including time sheets and scrap reports
  • Utilize required safety equipment and apparel at all times
  • Pass Navy Tech Pub exam and weld according to required standards

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Trade School preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices
  • Experience welding MIG & TIG on:
    • Mild steel
    • 304 & 316 stainless steel
    • Aluminum
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to become certified as a Navy Welder per Company Qualification Matrix
  • Clean Background and Drug Screening
